3 New Cruz Tablets with Kindle Apps and Impressive Specs

January 5, 2011 by Nathan

Cruz Tablet

Velocity Micro just announced 3 new Android tablets with 7″, 8″, and 10″ screens. They are expected to be released in late Q1, so probably around April – June if history is any indication.

All have fairly impressive specs and come pre-installed with the Kindle Android app like the new Cruz Reader T301 that showed up on Amazon about a month ago.

Aside from dropping the Borders app that the previous models came with in favor of Amazon’s Kindle app, what stands out most about the new Cruz Tablets are the high-resolution capacitive touchscreens, 3G wireless, Android 2.2/2.3, HDMI out ports, and front and rear facing cameras.

Here are the details from the press release via CrunchGear.

I am somewhat dumbfounded NOT to find the largest and best selling of all ereaders on this site. Putting one’s head in the sand does not make it go away. Please do not say, Oh, it is not an E reader since you describe in detail the Cruze which is essentially mimicking the iPad in most respects.

I am somewhat dumbfounded that you are dumbfounded. If you are referring to the iPad, I reviewed it last year. It’s on the main navigation to the left.
