Today Onyx announced on their Facebook page that their latest 2.3 software update is now available for older Onyx ereaders that run Android 6.0.
This includes the Max2 models, the Nova Pro, Nova+, and regular Nova, along with the Note Pro, Note+, original Note and Note S variants, and the Onyx Poke Pro.
The 2.3 update was first released last month for Onyx’s newer models that run Android 9.0.
This 2.3 update still does not include the long-promised upgrade to Android 9.0 for the Android 6.0 devices, but it does include the new features like split-screen to view two documents at once.
Other new features included with the 2.3 update are a floating menu bar and Reading Stats for the built-in NeoReader ebook app, and they added a Scrolling Mode for PDFs.
You can download the 2.3 update on your Onyx device by going to Settings > Firmware Update > Check for updates.
Onyx also has a support website where you can download updates to install them manually, but on their Facebook post it says they’re still uploading the files so they won’t be available to download until tomorrow.
They also note to make sure you only use the update for your specific model or it could break your device, so you’re probably better off just using the OTA method.
See this earlier post about the 2.3 update for more details and to see a video of some of the new features.
Still not on site for the note pro, however you can still use the firmware update feature.
And, if that matters, OS version is still Android 6.01.
But still no update to Android 9. I am very disappointed in Onyx Boox.
After all, the Note Pro is a premium device that is also relatively expensive.
Also this time, when communicating the new software update, Onyx Boox makes no mention of the Note Lite. Yet the update has been released also for the Note Lite. In order to download it, it is necessary to proceed as foreseen by the manual, taking care to set the reader to the Chinese language first. Obviously, you need to make a note of the route, to avoid annoyances.
Hello. I have the newest Nova Pro 2 and just received the Firmware update. Should I download it?
Update 2.3 did not introduce revolutions. To understand more, refer to the changelog page. I have been invited (from Onyx technical service ) to download a trial version of 2.3 in advance, to remedy the difficulty of “automatic” access to the internet. I had some small stability problems after the download.
I have news about Nova 2 and Nova Pro. I can’t find any trace of a Nova Pro 2 instead

When my Nova is working great like it is now, I’m always wary of updates. .y most used function is notes and they always change stuff in there that I have to relearn. The last update was good though, it put things back the way I preferred them and let me write on reflowed PDFs.

Atualizei o meu Onix Nova Pro para versão 2.3, mas ele fica travando todas as vezes que vou atualizar alguma coisa. Ficou péssimo
