Amazon is known for putting Kindles on sale all the time, but lately that hasn’t been the case. In fact, it’s been over 5 months since the Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite were last on sale at what would be considered low sale prices.
For Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon did something different this past year. The sale prices on Kindles were higher than normal; Amazon only took $20 off the Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite. I guess Amazon has figured out that people are so conditioned to buying stuff that time of year they don’t need to do deep discounts like they did in previous years.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday used to be one of the best times of the year to get a Kindle on sale, but after last year that clearly is no longer the case. While the Kindle Scribe was on sale at its lowest price ever during November and December, the Kindle Paperwhite was at its highest sales price ever at only $20 off.
Prime Day is usually when Kindles are at their lowest sale prices, but that also requires having a Prime membership so the cost of that has to be taken into consideration as well.
In light of the recent infrequent sales and higher than normal sale prices, I thought it would be helpful to put together a list of all the lowest sale prices for each Kindle model for future reference.
Here’s the list of the lowest sale prices ever for each current Kindle model as of March 15th, 2024:

The 2022 basic Kindle hit its lowest sale price on Prime Day in July of 2023, and then again when Best Buy did their Prime Day price-matches a month later.

The Kindle Paperwhite was at its lowest sale price during Prime Day 2023:

Kindle Paperwhite 16GB – $99.99 ($50 off)
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition – $124.99 ($65 off)
Kindle Paperwhite Kids – $104.99 ($65 off) – The 8GB version was once on sale for $89.99 but Amazon no longer sells the 8GB version.
Kindle Scribe – Lowest Prices
The Kindle Scribe hit its lowest sale price ever on November 16th, 2023.

Kindle Scribe 32GB – $279.99 ($110 off)
Kindle Scribe 64GB – $304.99 ($115 off)
There will be a spring sale soon.
I don’t know if the prices on Kindle will go down as much as on Prime Day.
