Amazon has rolled out their Black Friday deals on Kindle ereaders, including the new Kindle Paperwhite and new Kindle for 2024, and Amazon’s official Kindle covers and accessories are on sale too.
The deals are better this year than they were last year, especially considering the new models were just released last month, but Amazon has some even better deals on Fire tablets, with some models over 50% off.
As expected, the Kindle Colorsoft is not on sale. The shipping date is 3-5 weeks out so I guess it doesn’t make sense to put it on sale.
The new Kindle Scribe isn’t on sale either, and that shouldn’t surprise anybody considering it hasn’t even been released yet. Oddly enough, the original Kindle Scribe isn’t on sale either, but Amazon does have the 16GB refurbished Kindle Scribe on sale for $233, but the deal is already 81% claimed.
Keep in mind, if you have an old Kindle laying around in some drawer somewhere that you no longer use, you can trade it in to get an extra 20% off the Black Friday sale prices on a new Kindle. Even if it’s broken Amazon will give you a $5 credit and 20% off.
Check out the Black Friday Deals page at Amazon for an updated list of sales. They usually just stick with the same Kindle deals through Cyber Monday, but if they add anything new I’ll update this post.

Update: Amazon added the original Kindle Scribe to the list of deals on 11/28, but only the 16GB version with the basic stylus is on sale. It’s marked down to $269 from $339.

In Germany the discounts were pretty interesting. The original Scribe 33%, original Basic and Paperwhite 50% in Kids version. Basic is $60 including tax, Paperwhite is already gone, it was $90 including tax.
the matcha version of the basic only got $20 off. not a very satisfying sale at all, but i went for it.
Yeah, it’s weird when they charge more for a color, yet all the Paperwhite colors are the same price this time so it doesn’t really add up.
