Audible has added a sweetener to their 3-month promotional deal where you can get an extra $20 credit when signing up that you can spend on any audiobooks you want.
Prime members can get 3 months of Audible for free, plus the $20 credit with this deal. For non-Prime members you can get a similar deal that’s $0.99 per month for the first 3 months and the $20 Audible credit.
Last week it was the same deal minus the $20 credit. It’s unfortunate for those that subscribed early before they added the extra $20. The offer lasts until July 5th, but that’s what they said about the last deal before they made it better—they should’ve been offering this deal from the beginning when they first started the early Prime Day Deals.
Like usual, it’s one of those deals that’s going to vary by account. It’s for new and some returning subscribers, but you never really know if your account is going to be eligible until you check on Amazon or Audible’s website after you sign in. If you already have an active Audible membership you won’t get the deal.
It’s worth noting that these deals are for Audible’s “Standard” plan, and they’ll automatically start charging your account $8.99 per month after the 3 month trial offer ends unless you cancel before then.
The Standard plan is more limited than the Premium Plus plan that they used to do these types of deals with. The Standard tier lets you choose one audiobook per month, but unlike the Premium plan, you can only access those audiobooks while you have a subscription.
Nonetheless, being able to get Audible for 3 months for free with a $20 credit is a good deal. Even at $3 it’s a good deal if you’re into listening to audiobooks and podcasts. Amazon is also giving away 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for free for Prime members, and you can get access to several thousand audiobooks through that as well.
