Pottermore is running a 25% off sale on Harry Potter ebooks from now until July 31st.
The 25% off sale price applies to the first book in the series, as well as collections for books 1-3 and the complete collection of all seven ebooks.
That takes the price of the first ebook, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, from $7.99 to $5.99. The 1-3 collection’s price drops from $23.97 to $17.97. And the complete collection of ebooks 1-7 is now $47.94, down from $63.93.
Or if you don’t want to pay anything, you can borrow the entire series from public libraries for free. Amazon Prime subscribers who own a Kindle device can also get them for free through the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, but only one per month.
Pottermore is the exclusive source for purchasing Harry Potter ebooks and audiobooks. What’s good about Pottermore is they don’t use traditional restrictive DRM, so their ebooks aren’t tied down to any one platform.
You can download the ePub file directly from Pottermore and transfer it to any device or app that supports ePub, or you can have Pottermore send the ebook to your library at Amazon, Google, Barnes and Noble, or Kobo.

That’s a great deal. But, about 6 months ago, when I wanted to buy for my Kindle, I read at Amazon that many, many customers had nothing but trouble with Pottermore’s purchasing software and customer service. Do you know anything about this?
Nathan says
No, I hadn’t heard about that. Are you referring to problems related to getting the ebooks on an Amazon account for Kindles or the Pottermore website itself? If it’s the former, the ePub can easily be downloaded and converted to a Kindle format with Calibre—that’s the beauty of not having restrictive DRM.
