Earlier in the week, PocketBook’s RSS feed pinged about new firmware for the PocketBook Pro line of ebook readers. The actual news article is dated December 16th and the firmware is dated December 15th, so who knows why they waited so long to announce it officially.
The new firmware, version 2.1.2, is for the PocketBook Pro series and includes the touchscreen models and non-touchscreen models—the Pro 602, 603, 912, and 902. The new firmware adds some significant changes. Mostly good.

PocketBook International recently introduced a new tablet called the PocketBook A 7″, which is essentially a smaller version of the PocketBook A10 that was shown at IFA back in early September.
As the name implies, the new PocketBook tablet has a 7″ screen. In fact, it has the same screen size and resolution as the Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet, but with a TFT screen instead.

Earlier in the month at IFA, PocketBook announced two new ebook readers, the PocketBook Pro 912 and PocketBook Pro 612, in addition to the A10 Android Gingerbread tablet.
Both new PocketBook ereaders are going to replace the PocketBook 903 and 603 that were never released in North America because PocketBook couldn’t work out the 3G wireless feature with any wireless carriers. The 903 and 603 will continue to be sold in Europe, however.

PocketBook showed off a new 10″ Android tablet at IFA that is getting set to be released in October/November. It is PocketBook’s second Android device, the first was the PocketBook IQ that was released about the same time last year.
The PocketBook A10 runs Gingerbread (Android 2.3.4) and even comes with Android Market access. PocketBook opted to go with a 4:3 screen ratio so that it is more suited for reading ebooks, PDFs, and digital magazines.

PocketBook has released a firmware update, version 2.1.1, for the PocketBook IQ Android ereader.
The update is available for download from the PocketBook IQ support page. Make sure to backup your apps and ebooks first and to read the upgrade manual because it says that you must have firmware version 2.0.6 installed before attempting the update, among other things.

Here’s the link to the PocketBook 360 Plus review, a 5″ WiFi-equipped ebook reader with a very unique design.
As usual the review includes some photos, several screenshots, and an HD video review.
Thanks to Tatiana from E-readers Plus for lending a PocketBook 360 Plus for this review.

Remember a few weeks ago when the PocketBook 360 Plus was videoed playing Doom II? Well now the PocketBook 360 Plus is available for order, although it doesn’t look like Doom is included.
The 360 Plus is an upgraded version of the original PocketBook 360; both share the same exact design. The Plus model adds WiFi for downloading ebooks and news feeds directly to the device itself, and a web browser for basic web surfing.

Charbax from ARMdevices.net got his hands on the new PocketBook 360 Plus at the HKTDC Electronics Fair in Hong Kong.
If you recall, this is the same PocketBook 360 that was videoed playing Doom II a couple of weeks ago. Charbax also posted a video of the PocketBook 360 playing Doom (second video below). The first video is more of a general look at PocketBook’s newest ebook reader that reveals some interesting new information about it.

Here’s something interesting. The developers over at PocketBook ported a version of the video game Doom 2 to run on an updated version of the PocketBook 360, called the PocketBook 360 Plus.
Information about the PocketBook 360 Plus is scarce at this point, but the video below shows some of its potential. It is presumably equipped with an E Ink Pearl screen and a new Freescale processor to achieve frame rates for video games.

A new firmware update has been made available for the PocketBook IQ 701 today that adds some new features and fixes some bugs.
It doesn’t look like it’s the major update that was expected to add Adobe DRM support to PocketBook’s reading app and Android 2.2, but it does add text-to-speech and opens up more memory for apps, among other updates.
