Amazon has rolled out a triple points offer for their Kindle Rewards program where you can earn 3x the Kindle Points when buying Kindle ebooks on December 28th and 29th.
They don’t do they these triple points days very often, maybe twice a year, so if you have any ebooks that you’ve been thinking about buying it might be worth doing so now to earn the extra points.
Normally you can earn 3 Kindle Points per dollar spent on Kindle ebooks, but now you can earn 9 points per dollar during the promotion. If you buy a $10 ebook you’ll earn 90 points.
Once you hit 300 points you can cash them in on the rewards page for a $3 credit that will automatically get applied to your next ebook purchase.
The one thing to watch out for is the points and the credits expire pretty quickly so you have to remember to use them. Points expire after 3 months if you don’t redeem them, and credits expire after 30 days if you fail to use them.
The Kindle Rewards program is still only available in the US, and it’s still labeled as “Beta” and apparently it’s by “invite only” so it’s probably not available for all accounts, but if you have access to this Kindle Rewards page at Amazon then you can earn points with each Kindle ebook purchase to earn credits toward future purchases.
Amazon started the Kindle Rewards program last year in October of 2022. When it first started you could earn 5 points per dollar spent, but then they changed it to 3 points per dollar spent in June of 2023, and they cut the expirations time in half, which made it hardly worthwhile unless you spend $100 every couple months on ebooks, but at least these triple points days help make it easier to reach the 300 point threshold to earn a $3 credit.

I did this when it first came out and got a few books. I stopped when they changed the expiration date. I found myself looking for books from my wish list to buy that I could afford on my income just so I could collect or use the points before they expired – which is nuts. Now I just delete those emails.

I really wanted this program to work with the reading insights program but they seem to not know the other exists. I use neither but someone else probably could have benefited from more integration thus more opportunities to earn points. For rewards I much prefer the slow shipping option on check out on Amazon. The amount is in cash and its automatically applied to a book if you have credits. Simple and easy.
