Free 3 Months of Kindle Unlimited & 3 Free Audible Audiobooks (Prime)

June 17, 2025 by Nathan Groezinger 3 Comments

Free Audiobooks

Amazon has announced they’ll be doing Prime Day on July 8-11 this year, and like usual they’ve started rolling out some early deals on a few things.

Right now eligible Prime members can get 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for free and a 3 month Audible subscription for free, which includes 1 audiobook per month that you get to keep even after you cancel.

It’s unclear how long the Kindle Unlimited deal will last (probably until the last day of Prime Day on July 11th), but the Audible deal runs through July 31st so there’s plenty of time to redeem that offer.

Like always, these deals aren’t available for customers with an active subscription; they are only for new and sometimes returning customers. There might be other stipulations as well. You can view the terms and conditions at Amazon.

With both deals you can cancel at anytime to avoid paying the renewel cost after 3 months. If you don’t cancel they will automatically start charging $11.99 per month for Kindle Unlimited and $14.95 per month for Audible after the free 3 months.

Kindle Unlimited provides access to a selection of Kindle ebooks that you can read as much as you want. It comes with access to some audiobooks as well, but you don’t get to keep them, just listen to them while you have an active subscription. With the Audible deal you get to pick one audiobook per month that you can keep, and you also get access to thousands of audio titles and podcasts during the 3 month trial subscription.

These deals are exclusively limited to Amazon Prime members. If you don’t have an active Prime membership you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Prime if you haven’t already done so during the past year. The trial will last through Prime Day as well so it’s a good way to get in on the action for free.

My last KU subscription deal just ended a couple weeks ago; looks like they are not going to let me re-up. I’ll keep trying until 7/11 to see if that changes, and report back.

Also regarding KU, perhaps someone could give me some insight… I knew my KU was going to be expiring while I was out of the country, so I loaded up and planned to leave my Paperwhite in airplane mode. I made it through the series I was working on, and still had several books in hand. But I ended up needing a charge. I plugged it into the wall, leaving it still in airplane mode. A day or so later, I noticed I was on WIFI and all my KU books had been sucked back to the Mother Ship.

Does charging switch you into Wifi? There have been other times I have noticed Wifi on without remembering my switching it on, as airplane mode is my default. I only go to Wifi to download new stuff.

As of today, still no joy through this link for free KU. Fingers crossed for Prime day. If that doesn’t work, I may buy myself one month, as an author I follow has a next in series (She offers it on KU) selling the Kindle edition for a dollar more than the KU monthly subscription price of $11.99. I could get her latest for $1 less, and load up on other KU titles. I read fast, and once again, if I keep airplane mode on, I can prevent the return to the mother ship…

Prime Day or no Prime Day. They aren’t going to give me any freebies. I really wonder how they make their decisions on who is eligible and why. If I knew the parameters, I wouldn’t feel so cheated.
