Amazon has been giving away a free ebook and audiobook combination each month to help promote their exclusive Whispersync for Voice feature that syncs Kindle ebooks and Audible audiobooks together on Fire tablets and Kindle reading apps for Android and iOS.
Now that it’s October, Halloween will be arriving soon, so naturally the free title this month is Dracula by Bram Stoker.
Once you “purchase” the Kindle ebook copy for free at Amazon, you’ll get the option to download the professionally narrated audiobook for free as well. The audiobook of Dracula normally costs $16.95, so that’s a decent amount of cash to save and spend on something else.
Once acquired, you can listen to the audiobook any way you want—through various Audible apps, you can burn it to CD’s, etc. Or you can use a Kindle device or app to sync it up with the ebook to switch back and forth between listening and reading. This works with any Fire tablet, the Kindle Keyboard, and Kindle Touch.
Fire tablets and the Kindle Android app also support Immersion Reading, which highlights the words on the screen as the audiobook is read aloud.
The same title is available on Amazon UK with the free audiobook as well, along with 8 other classics.
I got the freebie book in 2012 and don’t have the option to d/l the audio book. Any idea how to fix this? Maybe I need the link showing which book/audio book is free this month.
I already tried looking through ALL my books that qualify for an audio book upgrade, but Dracula wasn’t there.
Then I tried deleting the book and using one-click to purchase it again, still didn’t get the option to upgrade to the audio book version.
I’m stumped!

Apparently this was offered when Amazon started selling the audio books with the kindle books and I’ve already gotten the freebie LOL

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I couldn’t get the audiobook page to show up from the ebook page becasue I already had it, so I had to use private browsing. They gave this one away when they first started promoting Whispersync for Voice.
How does one normally find this free monthly choice at Amazon. This is the first time I’ve done it.

Are you sure? It’s still listed as free on the Whispersync for Voice list at Amazon UK. Judging by your email address, perhaps it’s because you don’t like in the UK? I think that’s one of the stipulations.
except I do… I just moved here tho, and also just recently moved my kindle account. It doesn’t make much sense anyway. They are still giving me a pretty decent discount, but it’s not free.
