Submit Your Own eReader Reviews and Articles to The eBook Reader.com!

Logo

Good news! You can now submit your own ereader reviews and articles to The eBook Reader.com and have them appear on this website, complete with pictures, comments, and email notifications (if you choose to receive them).

This feature isn’t entirely new. I used to accept user-submitted reviews and articles a long time ago after first launching this website, but between the all the spam and poorly-written articles I decided to drop it. But now this site receives a lot more traffic and visitors deserve a place to post their own thoughts so I’ve decided to bring back user reviews and articles.

To submit your review or article and to read other people’s contributions, check out the submissions page. I’ll add a new link for it in the main navigation list or on top of the header soon so it’s easy to get to from every page.

Noreve Leather Cover Review for Kindle 4

Noreve Kindle 4 Cover

The folks at Noreve sent over one of their Kindle 4 leather covers for review, and I have to say it is one of the nicest ereader covers I’ve seen.

I’ve never used a Noreve cover before so had no idea what to expect. According to their about page, they are based out of France and have been making leather covers for electronic devices since 2004 and distribute them worldwide.

Nook Tablet vs Nook Color Comparison Review (Video too)

Nook Tablet vs Nook Color

Now is a good time for a Nook Tablet vs Nook Color comparison review since Barnes and Noble issued a firmware update for the Nook Color to add some new features earlier in the week.

Even before the new firmware it was pretty hard to tell the Nook Tablet and Nook Color apart, and now they are practically identical twins from a software standpoint. I bet the average person would have trouble pointing out many differences after 5 minutes of use on each.

Kindle Touch vs Nook Touch and Sony Reader PRS-T1 (Video)

Kindle Touch vs Nook Touch and Sony Reader PRS-T1

For this review I’m going to compare the Kindle Touch with the Nook Touch and Sony Reader PRS-T1. I’ve already compared the Nook and Sony head-to-head, both stock and rooted, so this review is going to focus on comparing each of them with the Kindle Touch specifically.

On the surface all three ebook reader are very similar. They have the same 6″ E Ink Pearl displays and the same infrared touchscreens. When you start to analyze their features, however, they are all very different. Each one offers advantages the others do not.

Kindle Touch vs Kindle 4 Comparison Review (Video)

Kindle Touch vs Kindle 4

The Kindle Touch and Kindle 4 are Amazon’s latest generation Kindle ebook readers. This comparison review aims to outline the similarities and differences between the two.

Both devices are a lot alike and yet very different. Each one offers something the other does not, more so with the Kindle Touch. From an ereading perspective, they are pretty much identical twins.

Kindle Fire Skins Have Arrived – GelaSkins Steampunk Skin Review

Kindle Fire Steampunk Skin

The Kindle Fire has been out long enough now for third-party accessories to start showing up, including skins. Two top places to get skins for the Kindle Fire are GelaSkins and DecalGirl. They both have hundreds of designs to choose from and you can even upload and create your own design with GelaSkins.

Skins are a good way to add some style to your Kindle Fire and for adding a layer of protection as well. GelaSkins sent me a coupon code (one of the perks of owning a website), so I went ahead and cashed it in on a Kindle Fire skin and a couple of other skins that I’ll post about later.

Kindle Fire Cover Review: Acase MicroShell Case with Stand

Acase Kindle Fire

The most important accessory for an ereader or tablet is a cover or case to keep it protected. I happened to pick up an Acase cover for the Kindle Fire on Cyber Monday while it was on sale for $11.95.

I am pleasantly surprised by the Acase, especially considering how cheap it was. Most of the other Kindle Fire covers and cases cost between $30 and $50. I’ve never been the kind of person willing to drop $50 for a cover so the Acase was an obvious choice.

Kindle Fire vs Nook Tablet Hands-on Comparison Review (Video)

Kindle Fire vs Nook Tablet

This Kindle Fire vs Nook Tablet comparison review outlines the similarities between the two most popular ereading tablets on the market, and details the advantages each one has over the other.

At the bottom of this post there is a video review comparing the Kindle Fire vs Nook Tablet side-by-side for a closer look. Trying to figure out which one to pick is not an easy task; I’m glad I don’t have to choose. Hopefully this post can help you decide.

Kindle Fire Review – As an eReader and as a Tablet

Kindle Fire Home

I’ve had the Kindle Fire for over a week now and was able to finish up the Kindle Fire Review this morning. Most of the first page is dedicated to reviewing the Kindle Fire as an ereader and the second page covers its multimedia features.

You’ll notice a few topics missing from the review, such as how the Kindle Fire handles PDF files. I plan on posting a separate review for PDF files showing some different apps, as well more in-depth reviews of individual features.

I plan on rooting my Kindle Fire and installing the Android Market so I’ll post my experiences with that as well.
