It looks like Aluratek has a new color ereader getting set to be released in mid-April, the LIBRE Color Touch, model number AEBK08FB. It’s up for pre-order for $149 on Aluratek’s factory outlet site, but not their main site for some reason.
Unlike Aluratek’s other Libre color ebook reader, this one has a touchscreen and comes with WiFi.

I happened across a new inexpensive ereader this morning on Amazon called the Gemei GM2000, a cross between an ebook reader and portable media player.
The Gemei GM2000 isn’t new exactly; there are a few articles about it from last summer, but it’s relatively new to the US market, having been available in Asia mostly by the looks of things.

The device is called the Onda MyTile 10C Pro. It has a 9.7″ capacitive touchscreen with a 800 × 600 pixel resolution and incorporates E Ink’s new color Triton display technology.

In an effort to cause mass confusion, Pandigital has quietly released yet another variation of an Android tablet/ereader to go along with their two 9″ models, the white Novel, the black Novel, and the multi-colored versions, each with their own subtle differences, positives, and negatives.
This new Pandigital Tablet looks a lot like the black Pandigital Novel, which I just did a video tutorial for last week. But this one isn’t being marketed as an ereader, and doesn’t mention anything about connecting to Barnes and Noble’s ebook store like all the other models do. In fact there’s no mention of a pre-installed ebook program whatsoever, and the term ereader isn’t used at all.

Here’s the link to the Aluratek Libre Color review. A big thanks to Christopher Carvalho for writing the review and for shooting a detailed video walkthrough.
The Libre Color is a relatively new ereader from Aluratek. It first started selling a couple months ago in very narrow markets and is just now starting to become more widely available online. It still hasn’t made a push into major retail stores just yet, but given the widespread retail presence of Aluratek’s Libre Pro, the Libre Color should start showing up in a lot more places in the coming months.
Check the review for the full rundown of the Libre Color.

Last week ZTE unveiled a new Pixel Qi-equipped tablet called the ZTE Light 2 at the Mobile World Congress convention in Barcelona.
The ZTE Light 2 is the first device to use Pixel Qi’s new 7″ screen that was on display at CES 2011. The 7″ screens have a pixel resolution of 1024 × 600, the same as Pixel Qi’s 10″ screens, so with the smaller screen the pixel density is much better at 170ppi as opposed to about 118ppi for the 10″.

The Archos 70b (pictured left) went up for pre-order in Europe back in December and now it’s reached the United States in the form to the Archos 70c, available for pre-order at JR.com for $149.
Archos has a number of Android tablets on the market, but the Archos 70c/b are Archos’s first ereader-focused devices that come with official Adobe DRM support for obtaining ebooks from a variety of sources.

At CES 2011, Aluratek unveiled a new ebook reader called the Libre Air and an Android tablet called Cinepad, both due to arrive in February.
There’s a third new device from Aluratek too, one that’s already on the market. It’s called the Libre Color. It has a color screen, as the name would lead you to believe, that measures 7-inches diagonally. The display technology is TFT-LCD and the pixel resolution is 800 x 480.

Today at CES Aluratek, makers of the popular grayscale LCD Aluratek Libre Pro, announced a new Libre Air ebook reader with WiFi and a 10″ Android tablet named Cinepad.
There’s actually a third new device as well, the Libre Color. It was released just a few weeks ago and is selling for $199 from Aluratek’s website. It has a color LCD screen as the name would imply and can play videos and display photos in addition to reading ebooks and playing music.
