Yes, Barnes and Noble still sell the original Nook and they just sliced $30 off of its price both on B&N.com
and on B&N’s eBay store, making it just $89. It originally sold for $149 before the Nook Touch came along so that’s a pretty hefty discount.
Even though it is the older model, it is a brand new Nook, not one that has been refurbished. It is the Wi-Fi only version; B&N no longer have the 3G model available.

Now that Barnes and Noble is getting set to announce a new Nook later this morning, they are unloading the E Ink Nook WiFi on eBay for $99 with free shipping, down from its usual price of $149.
Barnes and Noble typically sell refurbished ereaders on eBay, but these ones are labeled as “New”. They had previously been selling refurbished 3G models for $99, but the 3G models are no longer listed at all. They continue to offer refurbished Nook Colors for $225.

The manufacturer refurbished Nook WiFi is marked down to $79 with free shipping on Barnes and Noble’s eBay store. It usually sells for $119 so that’s a pretty good discount.
It looks like the Nook WiFi will be at that price for six more days (Apr 12, 2011 02:00:28 PDT) or until they sell out.
The 3G model sells for $139 and it isn’t on sale like the WiFi model. B&N said they were going to stop making the 3G version back in January but so far they are still selling it both new and used.

Ebook readers are dropping in price all the time. It looks like Borders has permanently lowered the price of the Kobo Wireless eReader from $139 to $99.
One year ago a $99 E Ink ereader was unheard of, a threshold that many said an E Ink ereader couldn’t reach because of the high cost of the screen technology. At this time last year the Kindle 2 and Nook 3G both sold for $259.

Here’s the link to a new updated Nook review for the original E Ink Nook 3G and Nook Wi-Fi.
Thanks to Doug Pardee, a veteran Nook owner, for writing the review. It is very thorough and very accurate and draws fair comparisons between the Nook and the Kindle.
Looking back at my original Nook Review done in February of 2010, a lot of changes have been made to the Nook’s firmware since then. My review was with firmware version 1.2, whereas this updated Nook review is for the latest firmware released back at the end of November, version 1.5.

Barnes and Noble is running a promotion on Facebook where they are giving away a Nook WiFi each day through January 30th.
You need a Facebook account to enter and the sweepstakes are open to residents of the United States over 18 years old.
Check out Barnes and Noble’s Facebook page for the official rules and to enter the drawing.

Barnes and Noble has again added some manufacturer refurbished Nooks to their eBay store.
The Nook WiFi is selling for $119 and the Nook 3G for $139. That includes free shipping and a 1 year warranty.
Last time they didn’t last very long so if you’ve been waiting on them this is the time to pick one up.
But first, you might consider getting a new one from Best Buy. I’ve got some inside info that I’m probably not supposed to share until tomorrow, but I don’t care.
Best Buy is going to offer $20 off on the Nook 3G and Nook WiFi this week from 12/19 – 12/25.
Update: It turns out the Best Buy deal requires you to buy a cover and light to get the $20 off—lame.

This post is updated daily to list all the ebook reader sales through the 2010 holiday season, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals and any other promotion retailers can think up between now and the end of December that involves ereaders.
I’ve added this page toward the top of the main navigation list on the left so it’s easy to find quickly to check for updates. I’ll also post each new item that is added to this list on Twitter for those of you that want to keep updated on all the latest sales and deals as soon as they are posted.
Please feel free to contribute to this list by leaving comments if you notice an ereader sale that isn’t listed, or if you happen to notice that one of the sales is no longer active.

There are currently three wireless E Ink ebook readers on the market that cost under $150. The Kindle 3, the Nook, and the Kobo Reader. All three have WiFi, and the Kindle and Nook have options for free 3G wireless models for under $200.
Each has a unique set of advantages and disadvantages. Choosing the right one all comes down to what features are the most important to you in an ebook reader. Hopefully this post can help you decide.

Came across an interesting sale on the Nook 3G thanks to a post over at MobileRead.
Barnes and Noble is selling refurbished Nooks on eBay for $99 with free shipping.
It looks like the $99 3G/WiFi Nook will be at that price for two more days (Nov 08, 2010 14:00:04 PST) or until they sell out.
Barnes and Noble also has some other options listed with longer sell dates. A WiFi-only Nook is $119 and is set to expire November 18th, as does another listing for a 3G/WiFi Nook for $149. All are manufacturer refurbished.
