This past week Amazon issued an update for the Kindle reading app on iPad and iPhone.
Amazon frequently updates their iOS app to add new features. Last month they added continuous scrolling and support for split view for multitasking on the iPad.
This new update, version 6.6, adds the option to easily return Kindle books borrowed from Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited.
You just have to long press the book’s cover to bring up the option to return it.
Speaking of Kindle Unlimited, Amazon is currently offering Prime members a 3-month subscription to Kindle Unlimited for $1.99. The regular price is $9.99 per month. The deal expires in one week on May 6th.
The 6.6 update also added a new mobile-friendly layout for select magazines, and they added an extra setting to enable the highlight menu when selecting text, like with the recent Kindle update.
Here’s the list of changes with the 6.6 update
- Return Prime Reading and Kindle Unlimited books from within the Kindle app. Simply long press on a book cover and select “Return book”.
- Read your favorite magazines in a new mobile-friendly format. Initial titles include Food Network, Cosmopolitan, Life & Style, Us Weekly, and 15 others.
- A new setting lets you enable the highlight menu so it shows up when you select text.
