Kindle Touch Arriving Ahead of Schedule, Releases Early This Week

November 13, 2011 by Nathan Groezinger

Kindle Touch

Good news. If you were one of the first to pre-order a Kindle Touch, it should be arriving at your door earlier than expected. I received an email from Amazon earlier today regarding my Kindle Touch 3G order. It was initially supposed to be released on November 21st, but they’ve moved that up to this […]

Nook Touch 1.1

When I first installed the new firmware for the Nook Touch that Barnes and Noble released last week, version 1.1.0, I wasn’t impressed. Barnes and Noble claim it is a “major” update, but after installing it I found out that it doesn’t even add any noticeable new features. However, after some further testing, I’ve come […]

Kindle 4 vs Kindle 3 Keyboard

This Kindle 4 vs Kindle 3 review is a comparison between the new $79 Kindle and the Kindle 3, now known as the Kindle Keyboard. This review does not compare the third 6-inch model, the Kindle Touch, because it has not been released just yet. I’ll post some comparisons with it in a couple of […]

If you are looking to nab a budget tablet or color ereader this holiday season on the cheap, Walmart has the Cruz Tablet T301 online for $99.98, and it comes with an AC adapter, sleeve, stand, and 4GB SD card. I reviewed the Cruz Tablet T301 last January; it was running Android 2.0 back then. […]

Kobo has taken a page from Amazon by jumping on the ad-supported ereader bandwagon. That’s right. Kobo just quietly introduced the Kobo Touch with Offers for $99. That’s $30 off the regular price. Like the Kindle with Special Offers, the Kobo Touch with Offers features advertisements on the screensavers when the device is turned off […]

Cybook Odyssey

Bookeen launched a new ereader this week called the Cybook Odyssey. It is the first ebook reader to use Bookeen’s new exclusive High Speed Ink System technology. Bookeen is a France-based ebook reader company so naturally the Cybook Odyssey is available in Europe. It’s unclear if it will be heading west to North America anytime […]

Barnes and Noble to Launch International Nook in 2012

November 10, 2011 by Nathan Groezinger

Nook Tablet

Earlier in the week The Bookseller posted an article that mentions Barnes and Noble’s plans to launch the Nook internationally within the next four months. The United Kingdom is mentioned specifically, which leads to speculation about B&N partnering with Waterstone’s, a major UK book chain looking to expand its ereader selection.
